On Victory Day, celebrated annually on the 8th of September, the Maltese Islands pay tribute to the incredible resilience of the Maltese people during World War II.

As one of the most bombed locations in the world during the war, Malta endured immense hardship, yet its people remained strong in the face of adversity.

To commemorate this important occasion, the National Museum of Archeology in Malta is sharing a striking photograph from 1942, capturing the dedicated staff of a Victory Kitchen in Mdina.

Victory Kitchens were vital during the war, providing meals to civilians amidst severe food shortages. The image offers a glimpse into the lives of those who worked tirelessly to support the community during these challenging years.

Victory Day not only marks a key moment in Malta's history but also celebrates the enduring spirit of its people.
