Tourist or not, grab your cameras and hunt down the fantastically gorgeous architecture on this here cluster of islands! Malta’s got a bunch of super spots to take stellar shots in.
While most architectural beauties on our island are churches, there are a couple more sites that deserve to feature on this here list. Let’s go
1. Mdina
The Silent City - a spot for the tranquil, scenic travellers, the lovers of narrow alleyways and the ones who crave a slice of chocolate cake.
2. Ta’ Pinu, Gozo
Ta’ Pinu in Gozo is one of the most stunning churches on our islands, it’s a beauty of many measures. From the gorgeous rose windows on the façade to the fantastic green areas in its vicinity, this sacred spot is one to visit…and revisit.
3. Upper Barrakka, Valletta
From the many angles it poses, the Valletta Upper Barrakka is a splendid spot to catch something new from high up above. The glistening limestone is best viewed at golden hour.
4. Mosta Dome
Known for its glorious dome, the Mosta Basilica is one that features some excellent architectural detail in the base of its foundation, with a grand entrance and regal presence to boot.
5. Citadella, Gozo
Gozo is a wonder spot full of character and life - the Citadella in Victoria is an iconic spot to capture some spectacular shots. When the rays hit that newly renovated limestone - the mood is just right!
6. Addolorata Cemetery
The architecture in Addolorata Cemetery is so marvellously crafted. It may be a burial ground for our loved ones gone but a photo shoot here can result in the most stunning portfolio.
7. St Paul’s Pro-Cathedral, Valletta
Yeah, lots of Valletta features here but can you blame us? This city is jaw-droppingly epic! The skyline would be incomplete if St Paul’s Pro-Cathedral were absent. What a beaut!
8. Balluta Gothic Church, Balluta
A spot of Gothic architecture never hurt anyone right? The Balluta church is drop-dead gorgeous - an iconic spot that’s often missed… an eye-catching gem in the bustling city of Sliema… or is it St Julian’s?
9. Victoria Gate, Valletta
Last Valletta shot, I promise. Victoria Gate is an architectural structure with so much might and power. Walking through this feature simply takes you back in time.
10. Palazzo Falson, Mdina
How can we forget the immaculate courtyard of Palazzo Falson in Mdina? Boy, oh, boy this little area is mind-blowing!
