1. Upper Barakka Gardens, Valletta

Built on the upper tier of St Peter & Paul Bastion, the Upper Barrakka Gardens are public gardens in Malta’s capital which boast breath-taking views of the Grand Harbour. A stroll through these gardens and a snap with the gorgeous backdrop is a great idea for a date.

2. Mdina’s streets

If you’re looking for some quiet and chill time, Mdina’s streets are the perfect spot. Walk through Malta’s Silent City hand-in-hand, taking in the sights and panoramic views of the island.

3. Ggantija Temples, Gozo

Taking a historical trip to one of Gozo’s (and Europe’s) oldest buildings for quite a different stroll. If you’re into history and want to learn all about our island’s past, this is a great date night idea. And hey, Ggantija is particularly beautiful at sunset, so you’ll definitely have an Insta-worthy shot to show for it.

4. Hastings Gardens, Valletta

Hastings Gardens along City Gate’s bastions in Valletta is one stunning spot for a cute date with your significant other. The stunning garden that boasts quite the Instagrammable views is named after former governor of Malta Francis, Marquis of Hastings.

5. St James Cavalier, Valletta

If you’re into theatre, art and films, this is the perfect spot for your date night. With always something going on, you and your partner can enjoy cultural activities at St James. Not to mention, it’s a gorgeous place to take a trip to.

6. Cittadella, Gozo

The Cittadella in Gozo was given a new lease of life after recent restoration works took place. Looking better than ever, it’s the perfect spot to learn about Gozo’s history, spend some quality time along the bastions and even take some selfies with Gozo’s greenery in the background. #TriedAndTested

Rich in history and just waiting for you to explore, Birgu’s backstreets are another quiet spot to head to, even if it’s just for a coffee with your beau. The Birgu square is a great spot to soak up some sun while sipping on a coffee, chatting the afternoon away and digging into a pastizz (or two!).
