As we’re getting nearer to welcoming the new year, the Malta International Airport has just issued a weather forecast that paints a picture of relatively mild and pleasant conditions for the coming days.

The weather is looking like it’s going to hold up for New Year's Eve and New Year's Day as both these days are predicted to be adorned with cloudy skies but no rainfall, providing a comfortable backdrop for festivities across Malta and Gozo.

Notably, the mercury is expected to rise above the climatic norm for this time of year, with maximum temperatures reaching a balmy 18°C. The forecast brings good news for people planning to partake in New Year's celebrations, promising light west-south-westerly winds and a cloud-covered sky.

Malta weather for NYE & NY

Tourists who have travelled to the Maltese Islands for our warm climate will be pleased to find temperatures exceeding the monthly norm by 1°C. The conditions are markedly more favourable than those experienced in 2014 when temperatures dropped to a crisp 2.8°C just before midnight.

As the first days of 2024 unfold, partly to rather cloudy and dry weather is expected, maintaining a relatively warm climate.

While stronger winds are anticipated in the subsequent days, with Force 4 to 5 winds blowing from a west-southwest direction, the overall forecast paints a positive picture for those concluding their Christmas holidays with exploration and enjoyment of the Maltese Islands.

Are you hoping for a warmer or a colder 2024?
