Malta claimed their first-ever victory in the UEFA Nations League with a hard-fought 1-0 triumph over Andorra, courtesy of a decisive goal from Ryan Camenzuli just before the halftime whistle.

Following a tough defeat against Moldova, the pressure was on coach Michele Marcolini and his squad to deliver. The game began evenly, but Malta slowly started to gain the upper hand as the first half progressed.

Midway through the opening period, Malta created several promising chances, with both Joseph Mbong and Carlo Zammit Lonardelli coming close to scoring. Eventually, it was Camenzuli who broke the stalemate, converting a well-timed pass from Matthew Guillaumier.

The second half saw Andorra pressing hard for an equalizer, making the game more nerve-racking. Malta's goalkeeper, Henry Bonello, pulled off several crucial saves to preserve the lead, including a key moment when Jordi Alaez narrowly missed leveling the score for Andorra.

Despite sustained pressure from the opposition in the final stages of the match, Malta managed to hold on and secure a vital win. This victory provides a significant morale boost as the team prepares for their upcoming rematch against Moldova.

Well done, team Malta!
