Watch them go! Nature Trust release rehabilitated loggerhead turtles at Ramla Bay
Liam, Eva and Daisy have returned back to the wild!

Lyndsey Grima

In a significant step for wildlife conservation, Nature Trust released three rehabilitated loggerhead turtles, named Liam, Eva, and Daisy, back into the wild at Ramla Bay earlier today. These turtles had been under the care of a rehabilitation center in Xrobb L-Għaġin, where they received the necessary treatment and support to return to their natural habitat.

Malta plays a critical role in the conservation of sea turtles, being home to five of the seven species found worldwide. The green turtle and the loggerhead turtle are the most common species in Malta, frequently nesting on its beaches.

Nature Trust is at the forefront of these efforts, not only for sea turtles but also for a variety of other protected species. Their dedication extends to dolphins, hedgehogs, chameleons, wild rabbits, and other species. The organisation is highly committed to the protection and rehabilitation of these species, working tirelessly to raise public awareness and encourage active participation in conservation initiatives.

The release of Liam, Eva, and Daisy marks a hopeful moment for Malta's wildlife conservation.

Go little ones go!
