Napoleon, the long-awaited film surrounding the life of one of the world’s most notorious leaders, has just dropped its first trailer.

The film directed by Ridley Scott and stars the Oscar winning Joaquín Phoenix in its titular role, was partly filmed in none other than Malta.

In fact, in the trailer one can see our beloved Malta as clear as day when the camera shows the battle of the Siege of Toulon which was filmed in Malta’s Fort Ricasoli.

This is not Ridley Scott’s first-time filming in Malta. He had shot booth White Squall in 1996 and Gladiator in 2000, right here on the island.

The film shows the story of Napoleon’s rise to power and his incredible strategic thinking through his addictive relationship with his first wife, Empress Josephine.

It is set to be release in cinemas on 22nd November, 2023.
