WATCH: Explore ‘Gebel Ciantar’ one of Malta’s most ancient fortifications from the Bronze Age
In a vlog, explorer Pierre Farrugia took his followers on a walk to discover the remains of one of Malta’s oldest fortifications.
Obviously, thousands of years have passed since the fort was originally built and only a few huge round stones forming a wall remain.
He went into the settlement through what could have been the entrance of the fortification and got to experience some impressive views of all the cliffs nearby as well as the beautiful island of Filfla.
Some of the stones look like they have been spoiled with concrete, indicating usage of the area later on in history.
As soon as Pierre got to the top of the fort, he had 360-degree view of Malta which is probably the main reason as to why the fort was built in this exact spot.
Pierre also came across many holes in the ground that were probably dug and used for water collection.

There was even the letters ‘NAZAC’ written with stone within a rubble wall nearby, but Pierre was not quite sure what it meant or what it referred to.
