Today, Freedom the rescued turtle has just been released back into the sea at Gnejna Bay after making a full recovery.

The loggerhead sea turtle has been in recovery for almost a year and three months at the Wildlife Rehab centre operated by Nature Trust – FEE Malta but was today it was finally ready to return back home.

Freedom was rescued back in June 2022 after it was found suffering from extensive injuries when it was hit with a boat’s propeller.

During its release ERA appealed to boat owners to drive carefully in order to avoid any unfortunate accidents like this one.
