Visual feast! Exploring MICAS, the new Malta International Contemporary Art Space

In its second week since opening, the Department of Information has released stunning photos of the Malta International Contemporary Art Space in Floriana. Situated between the Malta Police Force General Headquarters and the Msida Bastion Historic Garden, this impressive building spans 4,000 square meters and provides a modern venue for contemporary exhibitions and artistic installations, featuring both Maltese and international artists.

The current exhibition, titled ‘Transcending the Domestic’ by Portuguese visual artist Joana Vasconcelos, is a captivating display of her larger-than-life sculptures and immersive installations. Known for her vibrant and playful art, Joana Vasconcelos' colourful works are beautifully displayed at the space, offering a visual feast for visitors.

The art space's official opening hours have now been announced:

  • Tuesday: 12 PM – 6 PM
  • Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday: 10 AM – 6 PM
  • Friday and Saturday: 10 AM – 8 PM

Admission fees are as follows:

  • Adults: €10
  • Seniors and Students: €7
  • Children (6-11 years): €4
  • Children under 5: Free
