If you’re hungering for some local open-air theatre, you’ll be pleased to hear that Bormla’s Local Council has announced this year’s edition of the Cospicua Short Play Festival, taking place on the evenings of Friday 26th and Saturday 27th September, with the programme being announced soon.

For the past seven years, this event has brought together local playwrights, actors and directors to participate in this competitive festival, with performances taking place in designated areas within the harbour city of Cospicua, also known as Bormla.

This year will be no different, featuring six productions vying for awards in best production, actor, actress, script and director. A selected jury will present the winners with their awards on Sunday 28th September.

No need to plan ahead here – audiences can turn up on either day without booking and with no entrance fee. This is a great opportunity for local talent, both established and emerging, to showcase what they’ve been working on, and for audiences to explore the theatrical skill the island has to offer!

Have you ever attended the Cospicua Short Play Festival?
