IGNIS
Dates: 21st, 22nd, 23rd & 28th February
Choreographed by Liliana Barros (Portugal/Germany)
This fiery new work explores the explosive energy within us all. With support from the Austrian Embassy to Malta, Barros ignites deep emotions through movement, questioning whether our inner fire is a path to destruction or salvation. Expect an intense, raw, and visually stunning performance.
Somiglianza (Prélude à l'Après-midi d'un faune)
Dates: 21st, 22nd, 23rd February & 1st, 2nd March
Choreographed by Mattia Russo & Antonio de Rosa – Kor’sia (Italy/Spain)
A playful and ironic tribute to Nijinsky’s legendary ballet 'L'après-midi d'un faune', this piece reimagines symbolism in Western society while blending historic and contemporary influences. In this piece, supported by the Italian Cultural Institute of Valletta, Kor’sia aim to blending end-of-century imagery with contemporary entertainment. Expect a captivating journey through the history of dance, reinterpreted with a modern and innovative perspective.
And the others, one day we played outside for the last time
Dates: 28th February & 1st, 2nd March
Choreographed by Simon Riccardi-Zani (France/Malta)
This deeply reflective work, supported by the Embassy of France in Malta, contemplates what remains when we step beyond our personal sanctuaries. Building on Simon Riccardi-Zani’s past pieces, 'Ones, in the shade of sandcastles', a new choreography for ŻfinMalta, followed by 'Plus Ones, at the anchor of water lilies', commissioned for the Franco-German pavilion at the Malta Biennale 2024, this piece now questions the passage of time and the spaces we leave behind.

Camille Fenech
The artistic director of Żfindays, Matthew William Robinson, reflects ‘To be contemporary is to exist in the now. At ŻfinMalta, we do not work in a form of strict rules - we challenge ourselves to stay alert, to look beyond ourselves, and embrace the evolving present.’
