Tough Tufty! Rescued hedgehog is on the mend with new spines growing back
Tufty, sadly, lost her spines due to a severe infection.

Tufty, one of the three hedgehogs that were recently rescued, is one superstar of a survivor! WildLife Rescue Team Malta has reported that the recovering hedgehog is now in the 3rd cycle of treatment, and she is finally regrowing her spines back after she lost them due to a severe infection.

‘She still needs to grow them fully, after which we will then start her return to wild behaviour’, the NGO claimed on social media. They described Tufty as a star as she is, slowly but surely, on the mend!

‘She may not have enjoyed the medicated baths and all the procedures that her treatment needed, but she had the will to keep on going’.

WildLife Rescue Team Malta strengthens that all animals that they rescue are protected species and it is illegal to keep hedgehogs as pets.

You can do it, Tufty! Keep on fighting!
