Time for a dip! Here are the recommended beaches in Malta and Gozo for today
The strong winds of the past few days have calmed down, but several beaches are still not advisable for swimming

Francesca Vella

If you’re planning on taking advantage of the lessening wind and going for swim, you’re safest heading to some of the beaches in the south, or a few of the more sheltered bays in the north of the islands. The recent strong gusts of north-westerly wind have made most other beaches on the islands not advisable for swimming.

According to Maltese Islands Weather, the recommended beaches for today are Mellieħa, Mistra Bay, St. Paul's Bay, St. George's Bay, Rinella Bay, Marsaskala, St. Thomas Bay, Ħofriet, Marsaxlokk and Pretty Bay in Malta. If you’re in Gozo, it’s best to head to Qbajjar, Ħondoq ir-Rummien, Mġarr ix-Xini or Dwejra Inland Sea.

Beaches in Malta to avoid are Marfa, Ramla l-Bir, Little Armier, Armier Bay, Imġiebaħ, Qawra, Baħar iċ-Ċagħaq, Sliema, Wied iż-Żurrieq, Għar Lapsi, Fomm ir-Riħ, Ġnejna Bay, Għajn Tuffieħa, Golden Bay, Anchor Bay and Paradise Bay. In Gozo, it’s not advisable to swim at Wied il-Għasri, Xwejni Bay, Marsalforn, Ramla l-Ħamra, San Blas Bay, Daħlet Qorrot, Xlendi and Dwejra.

Remember to check Maltese Islands Weather for updates before heading to the beach, as the situation will vary as the winds change direction.

Don’t forget your sunblock!
