The golden days! Do you remember St Julian's Hilton Hotel looking like this in the mid-1970s?
The Hilton Malta was first built in 1967.

A picturesque photo shared by ‘St Julian's Malta’ on Facebook shows what Malta’s iconic Hilton Hotel once looked all the way back in the middle of the 1970’s.

Although the hotel is still very popular to this day, much has changed since this photo was taken 50 years ago.

The pool area itself is most definitely still not designed in the same way at the new hotel in Portomaso. The bright red uniforms of the staff at the hotel have disappeared as well.

One person in the comment section nostalgically recalled how he used to spend his nights dancing away at the Falcon Bar in Hilton.

The Hilton Malta was originally first built in 1967 right on the site of the Spinola Battery. The remains of the battery were however eventually completely demolished to make way for the Portomaso Marina as a new Hilton was built.

Nonetheless, some things will still remain the same no matter how much time passes. The Dragonara Casino can be seen in the background, looking pretty much exactly the same as today.
