The first sighting of 2024! Local photographer stunningly captures Mount Etna from Malta
A morning with perfect visibility.

Emma Galea

On Sunday morning, the local photographer, Daniel Cilia spotted Mount Etna overlooking the Maltese Islands for the very first time in 2024.

He had been trying to get this stunning shot for a long time, but the visibility was not great, until yesterday morning!

As one can observe, Mount Etna is completely covered in snow, giving the shot that extra special charm.

In fact, the snow gave Daniel Cilia an even better opportunity to photograph Etna more clearly as it perfectly contrasted with the Maltese dark blue sea.

The shot was taken from Malta’s coast road. Many sea gulls can be seen flocking around Maltese waters while Etna sits as their background.
