Take note! Malta Public Transport adjusts its services for New Year’s Day
Extended services will take place on New Year’s Eve!

As the holiday season is coming to an end, Malta Public Transport has announced temporary changes to its bus schedules for New Year’s Day, ensuring efficient and convenient travel for residents and visitors during the festive period.

From now until the 1st of January 2024, the bus network will operate on a reduced schedule, with normal services resuming on the 2nd of January 2024.

On New Year's Day, all bus routes will adhere to the Sunday schedule. Notably, a brief suspension of services will occur between noon and 3 pm on New Year’s Day, allowing Malta Public Transport employees a well-deserved festive break with their loved ones.

Services will resume between 3 pm and 4 pm, starting from Valletta and various localities. The final bus trips on this day will conclude between 8 pm and 8.30 pm, with departure times adjusting based on journey durations.

Furthermore, Malta Public Transport ticket booths and the call centre will remain closed on New Year's Day.

However, for those enjoying the New Year's Eve festivities in the capital city, extended bus services will be available to ensure safe and convenient transportation.

All personalised Tallinja Cardholders can enjoy complimentary travel during this period. Additionally, cash tickets at €3 per passenger will be obtainable from the bus ticket machines for those without a valid Tallinja Card.

Will you be going to Valletta for New Year’s Eve this year?
