Swim free! Rehabilitated turtles released back into the wild at Ġnejna Bay
Shacky, Raelyn and Ivy swim back into the sea

Francesca Vella

This year’s Sea Turtle Week (June 8-16) is proving to be a significant one, as three loggerhead sea turtles, were returned to their natural habitat yesterday at Ġnejna Bay.

The turtles, named Shacky, Raelyn and Ivy, had been under the care of the Xrobb L-Għaġin Nature Park and Wildlife Rehab Centre, where they received the treatment and care they needed to return to sea.

The environmental conservation organisation at Xrobb L-Għaġin has volunteers working tirelessly to rescue injured wildlife and nurse them back to health.

Thanks to all those caring for Malta’s wildlife!
