The local vlogger Pierre Farrugia, known for his treks around the Maltese Islands, recently explored the Mtahleb area, covering 7.2km and an impressive elevation of 237m. The area lies along the west coast, and is one of the quietest in Malta, offering lots of opportunities for exploration and immersion in the Maltese countryside.

The hike began at the coast of Mtahleb, in the far outskirts of Rabat, at one of the westernmost points of the island. The route followed a path along the cliffs with beautiful panoramic views off the west coast of the island, including a distant view of Filfla.
As the trail started to provide some elevation, it became slightly challenging for Pierre Farrugia, who considers this particular route to be of moderate difficulty. However the higher vantage points provided even more stunning views of the cliffs along the coast. As he says, both elements of the hike promise to take one’s breath away!
