Shining comeback! Malta returns to EuroCup Qualifiers after 30+ years with Starlites basketball team
Local basketball fans assemble!

Francesca Vella

Today week, on 24th September at 8pm, the Ta’ Qali Basketball Pavillion will be hosting the face-off between the local basketball team Starlites Naxxar and Cyprus’s Anorthosis Famagusta. This is an exciting moment in Maltese basketball, as it’s the country’s first time participating in the Qualifiers for the FIBA Europe Cup in over 30 years!

Malta’s last participation in the FIBA EuroCup qualifiers was back in 1992, and for the past 32 years the local basketball talent hasn’t been represented in this tournament, making this return particularly significant.
