She scores! Malta triumphs over Andorra in UEFA Women’s Nations League victory
What a comeback!

An early goal from Shona Zammit proved to be the game-changer as Malta secured a well-earned 1-0 victory over Andorra in the UEFA Women’s Nations League at the Centenary Stadium in Ta’ Qali yesterday evening. The win marks an important bounce-back moment for the Maltese squad in this league after their defeat to Cyprus earlier this month.

Malta dominated possession and created several opportunities to widen the lead. Haley Bugeja came close twice, with one shot soaring just over the crossbar and another grazing the top of the net. Despite these near misses, the team’s strong defensive display ensured that Shona Zammit’s early goal was enough to seal the win.

This victory lifts Malta to three points in the league standings, now trailing Cyprus, who remains undefeated following their 2-1 win over Georgia. With their next match against Georgia set for April, the team will be looking to build on this momentum - good luck to the squad!

Well done, Team Malta!
