Malta’s Film Commissioner, Johann Grech, recently shared an exciting montage featuring clips of the main cast from the highly anticipated ‘Gladiator’ sequel, filmed primarily in Malta and set to be released in three weeks’ time.

In the montage, the actors discuss Malta’s appeal as an ideal shooting location, highlighting its rich history reflected in the architecture of its older cities and the talent of the local crew. Hollywood favourite Pedro Pascal emphasises, ‘Location is everything when it comes to telling a story.’ World-renowned actor Denzel Washington agrees, saying ‘Malta is a character... You can feel the history here, and it was the perfect place to shoot.’ Connie Nielsen, who plays the film's female protagonist, adds ‘I would love to continue shooting here.’

Malta has long been sought after as a backdrop for international films, dating back to before the First World War. Its popularity as a filming destination continues to grow, attracting some of cinema’s biggest productions!
