Sasha Gatt has started the World Aquatics Short Course Swimming Championships in Budapest with a splash, already setting a new national milestone. Competing in the 800m Freestyle, Sasha clocked an impressive time of 8:35.15, breaking her own National Short Course record in this event.

This stellar performance earned her 795 FINA points - a scoring system that evaluates swimmers' achievements by comparing their times to world records across various disciplines. This marks the highest FINA score ever achieved by a Maltese swimmer, making it clear that Sasha is one trailblazer when it comes to local swimming!

Expressing her excitement, Sasha extended gratitude to her coach, Catalin Ioan Stan, and her family for their unwavering support.
