After yesterday’s rain, a beach trip might be the last thing on your agenda. But if the recent weather has provided some motivation to enjoy the rest of summer, you’re in luck, because according to Maltese Islands Weather most beaches are safe for swimming today!

Today’s forecast tells us to expect similar weather to yesterday’s, with a fairly clear morning before becoming cloudier towards the afternoon and with the possibility of a localised showers in some areas of the island. So make sure to check the skies before heading out!

If you’re planning on starting the weekend with a dip, here are the recommended bays: Marfa, Ramla l-Bir, Little Armier, Armier Bay, Mellieha, Imgiebah, Mistra Bay, St. Paul's Bay, Qawra, Bahar ic-Cagħaq, St. George's Bay, Sliema, Rinella Bay, Marsaskala, St. Thomas Bay, Hofriet, Marsaxlokk, Pretty Bay, Wied iz-Zurrieq, Ghar Lapsi, Fomm ir-Rih, and Anchor Bay are the ones to head to in Malta. In Gozo there’s Wied il-Ghasri, Xwejni Bay, Qbajjar, Marsalforn, Ramla l-Hamra, San Blas Bay, Dahlet Qorrot, Hondoq ir-Rummien, Mgarr ix-Xini, Xlendi and the Dwejra Inland Sea.

The only beaches to avoid are the ones in the northwest of both islands due to possible residual currents from the recent days of strong north-westerly winds, namely Gnejna Bay, Ghajn Tuffieha and Golden Bay for Malta and Dwejra in Gozo.

Keep yourself updated throughout the day via the Maltese Islands Weather site to ensure safe swimming wherever you go!
