Malta, brace yourself! According to the popular Facebook page, It-Temp Madwarna, the Maltese Islands are set to experience a significant rise in temperatures this week, as the African anticyclone strengthens, ushering in a hot period expected to last for, at least, ten days.

Following a week of temperatures below or at the seasonal average, the upcoming days will bring much warmer weather.

From Monday, 8th July to Wednesday, 10th July, expect sunny, warm, and smoky conditions. As we move into Thursday, 11th July, through Saturday, 13th July, the skies will remain sunny and warm, with clearer conditions. By Sunday, 14th July, the weather will revert to sunny, warm, and smoky once again.

Winds will vary throughout the week, starting light from the West (F3) on Monday, shifting to light from the West-Northwest (F2-3) on Tuesday, and temporarily turning from the East-Northeast (F3-4) and strengthening on Wednesday.

The wind will blow lightly from the Northwest (F3) on Thursday and Friday, becoming light to moderate from the West (F3-4) over the weekend.

Temperatures will rise to 34°C starting Monday and are expected to climb further to around 36°C by week's end. This was also confirmed by another Facebook page, Maltese Islands Weather, also stating that the real feel temperature will feel like 39°C on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday.

Nighttime temperatures are also expected to be higher and will range between 23°C and 26°C, above the seasonal average.

Sea temperatures will hover around a warm 25°C, perfect for a swim but don’t forget your SPF!

Are you looking forward to this week's rise in temperatures?
