The grey autumn skies and increasingly earlier sunsets may already have us nostalgic for the long, sunny days of summer – Aprille Zammit’s first solo exhibition, titled ‘Soak in Sunlight’ could be the perfect remedy.

Opening this Thursday 24th October at Marie Gallery 5 in Sliema, this exhibition invites viewers to reconnect with nature through vibrant images of red sunsets and serene seaside landscapes.

As the name of the exhibition suggests, the nature of Aprille Zammit’s artworks aim toward providing a calm, reflective space for the viewer, inviting them to appreciate the natural world around us, and to put it at the centre of our lives in a way which could promote tranquillity.

Inspired primarily by the sea, the artist explores the medium of film photography and screen printing to craft works that evoke hope and gratitude for nature’s beauty and the fleeting moments of the present. This exhibition marks the culmination of her artistic journey with both mediums.
