The Landa Carnival Crew recently took a trip down memory lane, sharing a throwback photo from 1996, the year they were first entrusted with building Malta’s King Carnival float.

The post pays tribute to the late Charles Axisa, founder of Landa Carnival Company, who started this iconic tradition 30 years ago.

Alongside the photo, the crew shared a heartfelt quote from Charles himself: ‘Bil-briju u mewg karnivalesk, biex nifrah maghkom jien lest’ - a reminder to his passion for Malta’s beloved Carnival.

Since 1996, Landa Carnival Crew has played a key role in shaping the festival’s vibrant spirit, crafting impressive floats that capture the essence of Maltese Carnival.

The throwback sparked excitement among Carnival enthusiasts, many reminiscing about past festivities and expressing admiration for Landa Carnival Crew’s longstanding contribution.

As Malta gears up for another spectacular Carnival season, this nostalgic moment serves as a reminder of the rich history and creativity that make the festival so special.

Are you looking forward to this year’s Carnival activities?
