Parts of the works carried out included re-painting the whole church as well as works on the altar.

The side door was also fully restored as it been there since the time of the Knights of St John here in Malta.

Apart from all this, works on the paintings that adorn the church were additionally carried out. The titular Immaculate Conception painting, the one depicting baby Jesus and the ones of Saint Anne and Saint Joachim were restored to former glory.

The church dates all the way back to 1736 and was built on the lands that were then owned by Fondazione Paola, a foundation which supported the building of sailing boats for the Knights of St John.

It is open for visitors and has mass from Monday to Friday at 5:30pm, Saturday at 5pm and Sunday at 9am and 4:30pm.
