Heads up! Rainy midweek ahead but a dry Carnival weekend expected for Malta and Gozo
Fingers crossed!

As Carnival weekend approaches, all eyes are on the weather forecast to ensure the festivities aren’t dampened by any unexpected weather conditions.

Fortunately, according to Maltese Islands Weather, the rain expected this week looks set to arrive just before the fun begins. Wednesday night will see some isolated showers across the island, continuing through Thursday. Strong winds are also expected on Thursday, reaching force 7, which will bring some rough seas. So if you're planning to head over to Gozo for a Friday morning start to the weekend, be prepared for some choppy waters!

However, by Friday evening, the seas should calm, offering smoother sailing for those heading to the sister island for the festivities. Friday and Sunday are expected to stay dry, ensuring that the celebrations can continue without a hitch. As always, though, Malta's weather can be unpredictable, so be sure to stay updated on the latest forecasts!

One thing to keep in mind - nights will remain chilly, with the real feel temperature dropping to around 7°C as we enter March. So, make sure to bundle up if you plan to enjoy the nighttime Carnival revelry - it’s going to be a fun and frosty celebration! Daytime temperatures are expected to remain fairly warm, averaging 17°C, so be prepared for some mixed weather.

Are you hoping for sunny skies this Carnival, or for some rain to add to the chaos?
