Gold in Italy! Two Maltese athletes place first at HYROX Turin
Quite a feat!

Francesca Vella

HYROX has become the hottest word in fitness across the island, as many take to the global fitness racing competition that combines functional strength exercises with endurance running. Two local athletes, Dzintra Grech & Katrina Cuschieri, have not only become local pros at HYROX, but have just made their mark on international soil, winning first place in the Pro Doubles Female category at the HYROX competition in Turin this weekend!

The HYROX Turin event, held over last Saturday and Sunday at the Oval Lingotto in Turin, Italy, featured a comprehensive schedule across various divisions, bringing together thousands of athletes participating in a mix of running, rowing, sled pushes, burpees, and other functional fitness movements, all completed in a race format.

It seems that for these two, as a coach commented on the celebratory post, ‘the best is yet to come’!

Congratulations Dzintra and Katrina!
