The last event of the year's Victoria International Arts Festival, a lecture recital by duo Miriam Cauchi (soprano) and Maria Frendo (speaker/pianist) precisely on the date of Puccini's death, Friday 29 November. Among the best-loved arias from La bohème, Turandot, La Rondine, Tosca, Le Villi, and Suor Angelica, will be performed, together with insights into what brings the glorious miniature arias of Puccini close to the poetics of Modernism.
