Strutturi is a body of work that explores architecture, space and the urban environment through a multidisciplinary approach. It originated as a collection of photographs and studies from various locations, capturing architectural features and their interplay with the surrounding space. These initial recordings served as the foundation for experimentation, where elements were analysed, simplified or modified before being translated into three-dimensional sculptural forms. These resulting ‘Structures’ were then reinterpreted once more, returning to the two-dimensional plane as a series of paintings. The cyclical process of deconstructing and reconstructing forms across different media allowed the work to evolve beyond its origins. This resulted in a collection of reimagined spaces resonating clarity, order and harmony - a paradox to the chaotic and overcrowded nature of the contemporary urban environment.More evening hours will be announced weekly.
Strutturi reflects a yearning for a ‘cleaner’ urban landscape - spaces that breathe, that offer respite and that actively contribute to mental well-being. In a local context marked by exploitive construction that is dwindling the charm of the quaint village, this body of work critiques the relentless proliferation of senseless construction. It invites reflection on the impact of the built environment on the collective psyche while dreaming of spaces where structure and serenity coexist.
