Lejl Imkebbes is a festival of lights organized at the majestic city of Ċittadella in Gozo, in collaboration with the Ministry for Gozo, Cultural Heritage Directorate, Ministry for Gozo and VisitGozo.com
Over 30,000 candles of all forms will light up the narrow streets of Cittadella, together with candle artefacts, creating a wonderful magical atmosphere within this walled city, offering a breathtaking 360-degree panorama of Gozo’s hills and valleys, villages, and churches and a view right across the sea to Malta.
Light structures will also be introduced this year, bringing forward an additional form of luminous art around the city. Furthermore, for this edition, we'll form part of Earth hour awareness and festivities, making sure Cittadella and our event will be the limelight among other venues around the world.
The night also offers numerous activities for everyone with historic re-enactments, extended and cheaper museum entrances, the opening of other public venues of interest, live entertainment, and children’s activities.
In addition, food stalls and bars will compliment the atmosphere at the entertainment area, making sure a pleasant night out is set for people of all ages.
Various transport methods are available to the venue. Gozo channel will have more frequent shuttle service to and from Cirkewwa, together with extended hours. Park and ride service will be available from Victoria Gozo.
