Join in celebrating the 'Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity' status awarded to Maltese feasts, on the 19th of October at Valletta.The solemn mass in the Co-Cathedral of St John will be one of the highlights of 'Fuq il-Festa 2024'. Scheduled for 5:30pm, Mgr Paul Vella will deliver a special eulogy during the sermon followed by a corteo with the participation of the Musical Associations and Festival Committees from all over Malta and Gozo. A varitey of show will be held at Triton Square, presented by beloved presenters Ron Briffa and Claire Agius. The evening will consist of a variety of performances that combine tradition with innovation. The audience can enjoy poetry readings, live music, and installations that show the heart and soul of Maltese feasts.The square will come to life as children and families interact with traditional displays such as Liedna work, Fistuni's work and the shading of Banners and Pavilions. There will also be areas where children can hoist banners or pavillions. Visitors can join a workshop on the marbling crafts used in the scaffolding that decorates the squares and streets of our villages, and even learn how traditional nougat is made!This family atmosphere will be a unique opportunity for families to experience Malta's heritage first hand.
