Big changes are coming to Bugibba’s main square, one of Malta’s top tourist and entertainment hubs! A €10 million regeneration project has just kicked off, and it’s set to give the square a fresh, modern look while enhancing its appeal for both locals and visitors alike.

This project, a collaboration between the Malta Tourism Authority (MTA) and Infrastructure Malta (IM), will breathe new life into the square, which hasn’t seen significant updates in over 20 years. By summer 2026, the square will feature a brand-new design and upgraded infrastructure, including improvements to the underground services and the roads leading to this iconic area.

So, what can one expect from Bugibba Pjazza 2.0? The area will boast new paving, upgraded seating, enhanced lighting, and even a pedestrian-only recreational zone - perfect for those looking to enjoy some fresh air and sea views.

Curious to see what the new pjazza will look like?
