Brace yourself! Thunderstorms, showers, and gale-force winds to hit Malta and Gozo this week
Enjoy this morning's sun while it lasts!

Francesca Vella

Although this week’s had a sunny start so far, it’s not forecast to last! From tomorrow through to Friday, showers are expected everyday. Peak rainfall is expected on Tuesday, accompanied by thunderstorms, and Friday, when an average rainfall between 15 mm and 30 mm is expected, giving a wet start to the weekend!

According to Maltese Islands Weather, Friday will also see a drastic increase in winds, starting from late on Thursday and reaching a potential gale at force 8 on Friday. This will lead to very rough seas, so if you’re planning on any sea travel on that day, make sure to check for updates on service operations.

The good news? The weekend is looking more stable, with calmer winds and a lower chance of rain – though it might be too early to say for sure.

Stay tuned for updates and keep that umbrella handy!
