Before and after! Niche in Sliema featuring statue of St Paul restored to former glory
This is one of many statues the Sliema local council are planning on restoring.

A couple of photos uploaded by ‘Tas-Sliema’s Local Council’ on social media show the newly restored statue of St Paul and niche in one of their streets.

The niche can be found in the corner of St Paul’s Street and Ghar il-Lembi Street.

It has been given a completely new life when compared to the deterioration it was facing.

This niche is one of many throughout the town that the ‘Tas-Sliema’s local Council’ plan on restoring to their former state.

Niches started popping up all over Malta during the time of the Knights of St John and were built as a means of religious protection for any disaster that might struck.
