Ħaġar Qim dates from circa 3600 - 3200 B.C. It stands on a hilltop overlooking the sea and the islet of Fifla. Set in a hollow above the Southern cliffs, and only 500 metres away, lies the contemporaneous temple site of Mnajdra. The surrounding area is typical of Mediterranean garigue and is designated a Heritage Park. An adjacent visitor centre complements the visit.
