A windy weekend up ahead! Strong force 8 to 9 winds expected to hit Malta and Gozo
As Malta is being hit by some incredibly heavy rain and thunder, the wind force is still somewhat moderate but that’s all about to change as the rest of the week goes by.
Multiple local weather forecasters are predicting strong winds that will go as high as force eight and nine this coming Saturday, 25th December 2023.
‘Temp Madwarna’ is expecting Force seven west-northwest wind wind that will eventually reach force eight and nine later on in the day. The strong winds will continue till Sunday, 26th December 2023 but will not be as extreme as they will vary between Force six to four.
‘Maltese Islands Weather’ is predicting force eight to nine winds from the west-southwest and is expecting that such a strong wind force will continue till Sunday before it subsides to force four to five winds in the evening.
The meteorological office at the Malta International Airport is also forecasting Northwest winds that will reach Force seven to eight on Saturday but is expecting the wind force to calm down substantially by Sunday.

All three forecasters are expecting isolated showers throughout the day on Saturday, but the rain is expected to stop by Sunday. We might even get some sunny skies on Sunday!
