A time gone by! Photo from 1910 shows a Maltese family harvesting grain by the cliffs near Delimara

A photo shared onto social media shows a scene that was quite a common one here in Malta and Gozo, but no longer is.

The shot, which was captured in 1910 shows a family of farmers harvesting grain near the Delimara cliffs, overlooking Marsaxlokk.

Delimara’s lighthouse and Delimara point can even be faintly seen in the background.

Today, near the fields where this 113-year-old shot was taken, Malta’s power station now stands.
