Providing an insight into the evolution of local artistic expression

Spazju Kreattiv in Valletta has long been established as a centre of the arts on the island and is continuing its mission to celebrate and preserve its artistic legacy with the 25th edition of ‘The Spazju Kreattiv Art Collection – An Open Research Project’ that opens on Tuesday 14th January.

This ongoing initiative dives into the organisation's 25-year history, displaying significant artworks donated to its collection, allowing visitors to observe the evolution of Malta’s art scene through the past quarter of a century.

At its core, the exhibition is more than just a feast for the eyes – this year’s collection promises to challenge, with artworks pushing artistic boundaries while offering a commentary on the ways in which society has developed, and providing some insight into the relationship between the artist and contemporary life.

Whether you’re an art lover or simply curious about stories told through Malta’s art in recent history, this collection makes for an interesting way to spend the afternoon. Curated by Daniel Azzopardi, Artistic Director at Spazju Kreattiv, the exhibition will run between Tuesday 14th January till Sunday 2nd March, and entry is free of charge.
