One of the most beloved closed sites safeguarded by Heritage Malta is opening its doors for you!
Standing proud and majestic above Marsaxlokk Harbour, Fort Delimara is a classic example of a Victorian coastal fortification, built in the last quarter of the 19th century to protect the port below it. During the event, visitors will have the opportunity to explore all this and see with their own eyes the results of Heritage Malta’s efforts to restore this historic site to its former glory.Eight guided tours will be held on both days in Maltese and English. Those who prebook a tour will have the opportunity to visit the Counterscarp Galleries, which will be accessible for the first time. The public may still purchase tickets at the door, at a slightly lower price, however this will only give access to the fort without the guided tours. There will be various activities that ensure fun for all. These include re-enactment shows about World War II era, an opportunity to learn about airsoft weapons, and a colourful programme for the little ones, with exciting adventures and experiments.
