St George’s Basilica is hosting The Byron Consort of Harrow Boarding School, which was founded in 1572 under a Royal Charter. It is noteworthy that this is Harrow’s elite chamber choir, which was invited to sing at one of the most important churches in England St George’s Chapel Windsor a few days ago.
The programme, directed by Philip Evans, includes works by Bach, Bairstow, Bruckner, Ireland, Palestrina, Philips, Tomkins and Vella. The date is also near enough to the anniversary of the sudden demise of Mro Joseph Vella, and is included in the list of events for the annual celebration of Il-Ħaġar museum’s inauguration on 23 February 2013.
There is no entrance fee and all are invited.
