Traditional Maltese flavours meet hidden charm at Bottegin Palazzo Xara

If you’re looking for traditional Maltese food in a setting filled with character, you’ve come to the right place. Bottegin at Palazzo Xara offers a dining experience that combines hearty dishes, historic surroundings and warm hospitality.

The restaurant’s signature dish is none other than traditional rabbit stew, a local favourite that takes centre stage on a menu featuring something for everyone. Other options include ravioli, seafood risotto, brisket beef, fried calamari and Thai chicken curry, while imqaret provide a sweet Maltese finish to the meal.

Beyond the food, Bottegin stands out for its unique atmosphere. Operating as a band club that welcomes both members and non-members, the venue features three rooms filled with musical memorabilia dating back to the 1800s, complemented by ornate baroque ceilings that reflect its historic character.

For those seeking a quieter setting, the aptly named Secret Garden offers a peaceful outdoor space away from the main dining rooms.

The drinks menu is equally varied, with Maltese Merlot leading a full bar selection complemented by a range of cocktails and other popular drinks.

Service adds to the experience, with staff members Isaac and Becky helping create a welcoming and attentive atmosphere. Guests can also enjoy complimentary WiFi, a full-size snooker table and private dining arrangements on request.

With its blend of traditional flavours, heritage and relaxed hospitality, Bottegin offers a distinctive spot for a meal with friends or a special gathering.
