Acqua Marina

160, St Anthony Street, Buġibba
Acqua Marina is a small, family-run kitchen built around Sicilian seafood cooking, its cosy dining room carrying real regional character in both its food and its welcome. Owner Carlo, described by regulars as extraordinarily warm, presides over a menu of seafood arancini, grilled octopus, spaghetti alle vongole, caponata and pasta with courgette and shrimp, alongside generous mixed seafood platters. The atmosphere is intimate rather than polished, with outdoor seating adding to the authentic, unhurried feel. Staff are consistently described as smiling and attentive, making newcomers feel instantly at home. It is worth noting the restaurant is closed on Tuesdays and that cash is the more reliable payment method. For a genuinely Sicilian evening away from the tourist strip, this remains a quietly loved address.
