Christmas in the capital! Magical lights transform the streets of Valletta for the festive season
A Christmas haven in the heart of Malta’s capital city.

Emma Galea

The highly anticipated lights that transform Valletta into a Christmas wonderland were officially turned on last night!

Now as you stroll alongside Valletta this festive season, you’ll be met with magical lights that will put you right in the Christmas spirit.

Apart from the lights, the huge Christmas tree in front of Malta’s Parliament was also lit up together with the nativity crib in St John Square.

The celebrating of switching on the Christmas lights were all part of the ‘Christmas in the Capital’ programme. The full details about the programme can be found here.

Fairyland Santa’s City, the Christmas event with multiple rides, artisan markets and kids activities will then open on the 8th December, at Valletta’s Pjazza Tritoni.
