Sefora has documented her and her family’s journey dealing with Diego’s autism, which he was diagnosed with at the age of two. Sefora shares her experience on her blog I am Diego, posting about day-to-day challenges and triumphs that Diego makes as he grows up.

Over the weekend, the adorable now-four-year-old had a racing-themed birthday party at Sunset Restaurant, Malta’s first autism-friendly resto. And it looked like a blast!

Sefora thanked MaryGrace at Sunset Restaurant for helping with the preparations. “She made sure all the changes were made so that Diego would feel comfortable. I have no words to thank her for all her efforts.”
What changes would those be, you ask? Well, restaurants can make themselves more 'autism friendly' by introducing early meal times, dimming lights and switching off music for more peaceful surroundings. Little changes such as these will allow patrons on the spectrum to be more comfortable when eating out. Every bit goes a long way!

And in keeping with the celebrations, Sefora posted a cute video with sweet memories of her family ever since Diego came into their lives four years ago. We’re not crying, you’re crying!
Happy birthday, champ!
