Take note! Extra public transport services announced for Birgufest this Saturday

Getting to and from Birgufest will be easier this year, with Malta Public Transport announcing additional and special services for the cultural and historical event on Saturday, 10th October 2026.

With increased demand expected throughout the evening, additional trips will be added to Route 2, connecting Valletta and Birgu. The enhanced service will operate in both directions, with increased frequency between 8:05pm and 10:55pm.

Special late-night trips will also run between the Café Riche stop in Birgu and Valletta, giving festivalgoers a convenient way to head home after the evening's celebrations. These services will operate from 11:10pm until 1:10am, with buses departing Birgu every 15 minutes.

For those travelling from Paola, Malta Public Transport will also provide a dedicated shuttle service between the Lourdes stop in Paola and Café Riche in Birgu. The shuttle will run every 20 minutes between 6:20pm and 9:00pm.

The additional services are intended to make travelling to one of Malta's most popular cultural events more convenient, while helping visitors avoid the hassle of driving and parking in and around Birgu.
