Take note! Extended opening hours announced for some of Malta's museums and heritage sites
Extended hours are from August to October from 9 am to 7 pm.

If you’re into history and culture, then this news is for you! From Monday, 5th August, until the end of October, several of Malta's prominent museums and heritage sites will extend their opening hours.

This adjustment will offer visitors more time to explore these cultural treasures at a leisurely pace. The extended hours apply to the following locations:

Malta Maritime Museum

Featuring the "An Island at the Crossroads" exhibition, which delves into Malta's rich maritime history.

National Museum of Archaeology

Showcasing Malta's prehistoric artefacts, including the famous 'Sleeping Lady' figurine.

Fort St Angelo

A historic fort with stunning views over the Grand Harbour, rich in military history.

Fort St Elmo & National War Museum

Highlighting Malta's significant role in various military conflicts, particularly during World War II.

Hagar Qim & Mnajdra Archaeological Park

Home to ancient megalithic temples, among the world's oldest free-standing structures.

These extended hours provide an excellent opportunity for both locals and tourists to immerse themselves in Malta's diverse cultural and historical landscape.

Whether you're interested in ancient history, military heritage, or maritime stories, these sites offer something for everyone.
