Santa Marija wind watch! Strong winds and 4 metre waves expected as from today!
Is this good or bad news?

Jillian Mallia

Santa Marija always brings a dodgy week, and this year is no exception. While we’re currently experiencing a scorcher of a heatwave (we’re not in Mother Nature’s best books at the mo), we might be relieved of the heat a little bit in the coming days.

According to Malta Weather, “moderate to strong northwesterly winds are expected across Malta and Gozo from Wednesday afternoon till Thursday afternoon with waves up to four metres high!” X’inhu?! Yup...

So, if you were planning on soaking up that sun during tomorrow’s public holiday, you might want to proceed with caution. According to the local weather site, bays where red swimming flags may go up include Paradise Bay, Sliema, Golden Bay, Anchor Bay, Marsalforn, Dwejra and Ramla Bay.

Are you relieved we’ll be getting some cooler winds this week, or are you totally bummed they might affect your swimming plans? Let us know!
